Four seasons sunrooms

Do not give these people your info. They have been calling me for 2 years now, mostley at dinner time. I have asked them to stop and take me off of the list every time. It is usually once or twice a month, lateley it has been 5 times this week. It is my new mission in life to call and harrass them when I am bored. Jan answers the phone in the evening for Lee's Summit. I think she must recognize my number because she will hang up when I call. Why can't she remember to not call it. Perhaps I will ask her when she calls tommarrow.

Same story in Toronto, Ontario as well. Customer service stinks.

Products about four years old.

One window faulty, and they couldn't fix it properly so far. Long delays in manufacture and installation.

We purchased a Four Seasons sunroom 4years ago. It is a new type, a vinyl kit.

It has leaked each and every year, particularly during winter months, freeze/thaw/snow melt/refreeze/etc etc etc. They were very responsive to trying to fix the leaks as they learned through trial and error. I have had the ceiling glass caulked/re-caulked, the front windows completely removed and the knee wall rebuilt. Water comes in through the vinyl channels migrating into the warm side (the inside) and also seeps in under the vinyl window casing sill.

Right now (Nov 2012) they are in the process of completely removing the vinyl sunroom components and they are replacing it all with their all aluminium kit which they have been installing for years. The owner says he will no longer install the vinyl kits as they lack thorough complete engineering to avoid water ingress.

I will only know after the freeze/thaw cycles of this winter (2012/2013) whether this rebuilt sunroom is truly water tight! Four Seasons here in Ottawa have been great on the service side but the vinyl kit on the original install and all their efforts to address my leaks since the completion of the install in my opinion is a type of sunroom to avoid like the plague!

My Four season room is 21 years old. I have replaced the floor and the floor joist in front of the sliding door 2 times from being rotted from rain getting in under it.

I had a rep. from 4 seasons come out before I fixed it the first time, he told me that the flashing was put on upside down.

He also told me that he could not do any thing for me. :x

Four Seasons Sunrooms

I have been trying to find a solution to a Four Seasons Sunroom glass roof system installed by one of FSS contractors. The roof leaked from the start and the contractor came back again and again trying to get the thing to stop leaking. After a couple of years, with the purchasers complaining bitterly about not being able to use the room because the water literally poured into it, I hit upon a solution. It's still experimental but the initial results seem to have cured the problem. Anybody interested should post and I'll see if I can help.

I'm sorry for what you have all been through. Hopefully you will feel a tinge of justice knowing that I am not going to hire this company based on all the complaints I've read.

Hopefully Four Seasons will notice that people are reading these complaints and it is costing them business to not correct their mistakes. If they cared, they would be posting here and reaching out to correct these problems but I have only seen one such comment so far.

I guess it's best to only use a contractor or company who gets paid when the job is completed.

I have had the same problem for years. Not only are the leaks worse, but water now comes in through the floors as well.

The contractor came out numerous time, but the issue was never resolved and the last time I contacted him he wrote me a nasty letter stating that they have done all that they are going to do. If you were able to stop the leaks, I would be most appreciatve if you would share your secret.

I am not satisfied with the four seasons sun room that was built at my house. Water issues etc...

what recourse do I have? What can I do to get four seasons and the contractor to take responsibility for these problems?

Thanks, Chris

My sunroom (built 8 years ago) which cost $68,000 has completely rotted from poorly installed flashing and calking. The store in Natick couldn't care less and I am getting estimates to repair it. The only way to do it correctly is to disassemble the entire room and...

Try FSFactoryDirect.com They are a very reputable

company and have fixed many mistakes made by other

companies. Four Seasons is a good product, but only

as good as the installer. FS fixed my sunroom and

helped us with an insurance claim to get some of the

money back on the fix. Now the room is used as intended

and we enjoy it very much.

DO NOT GET A FOUR SEASON SUNROOM!

We had a four season sunroom added to our house in So Cal. After 1st rain, we had a swimming pool in the room. Called four season contractor, was told it was because we had dogs, and their hair caused the water not to drain. We had the problem over and over, (even when we did not have dogs) one excuse after another, then was told we only guarrantee our work for 5 years. Sorry:-) Called four seasons main office, I was told it wasnt their problem. Additional due to all the water coming in the room, electrial that runs around bottom of room shorted out, then caused more electrical problems because to the way they tied in to existing electricity. $35,000.00 down the drain. Please DONT NOT get a four seasons sunroom, unless you like to throw away your hard earned money. Would love any information on a class action suit.

It really wasn't the rooms fault, it was the contractors fault.

You can go online and google class action lawyers - they are lining up for opportunities like this. Attorneys and initial plaintiffs are the only ones who make a lot of money on class action lawsuits. Everyone else will get pennies on the dollar.

Four Seasons -- Don't believe the guarantee!

I purchased a sunroom from Four Seasons Solar Products. After seven years we discoverd wood rot caused by water entering within the structure. Inspection by experts concluded that the sunroom was not correctly installed. As a result, it had to be torn down, and replaced. I wound up paying for the same room twice. When I appealed to Four Seasons they answered that the 10 year guarantee covers the materials, not the installation. The installation is done by the dealer. In our case, the dealer went bankrupt so we had to recourse to him. Dealers are trained by Four Seasons, and use the Four Seasons logo. When we inquired about a sunroom, we were referred to the dealer, Mr. Kim of KHI, there was no choice. Despite the link between the company and the dealer, Four Seasons denies all responsbility. The highly touted 10 year guarantee is practically worthless.

Four seasons does not stand behind their products. I have had one four over 15 years and had problems from the beginning.

Contractor did not do the job and Four Seasons hung up on me when I complained and they said that it wasn't their problem. Their sunroom has leaked badly in many places for the entire 15 years.

And too difficult to heat in the winter and too hot in the summer and no way to install any kind of shade or blinds. I wish I had installed a regular room with a lot of skylights.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - Bait & Switch

Ken and Christine Stilwagen operate a Four Seasons Sunrooms franchise called "Better by Design." They run the business out of their house in Middletown, New York. They cover Orange County and Sullivan County, New York. In my case, they took a $4,000 deposit for metal windows. Then the bait & switch began. Six weeks later they called to say the vinyl windows were ready. If there was an honest mis-communication, they would have offered to find a solution. Instead, their response was a written letter stating "take it or leave it." For all those people who have been victimized by bait & switch contractors, here is a forum to share your stories and provide warnings for future buyers -- http://worsebydesign.com

Am a little puzzled,do you know vinyl windows are twice the price of an aluminum window?? much better also for your colder climates up North? your complain should give a little more detail than just that, because the way I see it they are offering you a Mercedes Benz when you only paid for a KIA!

We bought two Four Seasons Sunrooms in OK. They did a super job installing both of them.

When we had minor problems, we called them and they came immediately, fixed the problems and never asked for any more money! Even came out and taught us how to lock the exterior door from the inside! Sorry, but I highly recommend them.

We're considering having another one added onto our current home - if I can find one close by the "boonies" where we live!

I have the same problem. My Four Seasons sunroom is 4 years old and is already leaking and is also drafty and cold in winter.

Numerous calls for repairs and they take my information and say they will have someone contact me...noone has called back in over a year.

Ironically, I keep receiving sales calls from Four Seasons offering free in-home estimates for sunrooms.

Hi, We also had a sunroom installed in about 2000/2001 from Four Seasons. It cost over 50K to install.

We have 4 crank out windows, and only 1 window still works. It's like this company disappeared! We live in Manhattan and it's so hard to find anyone to come to do work. I don't understand.

But I do have one contact. His name is John and his # is 914-447-**** He's in Elmsford NY,. But I think someones else came and repaired the leak once from another Four Seasons. His name is Bob Guerin 212-304-****.

Again, Like pulling teeth! And now I'm going to try to get new cranks for the *** windows. And to the guy/gal that replied to your post.

Duh, he had the Four Seasons Room for 16 years ***! Anyone with a brain could understand!
