Four Seasons Sunrooms - Water damage in the knee wall of my sunroom
Four Seasons Sunrooms - Water damage in the knee wall of my sunroom
I have had a terrible experience trying to work with the local and corporate Four Seasons Sunroom representatives. I contacted the owner of the Novi, Michigan store to try to get assistance on repairing the knee wall in my sunroom. The main corner brace of the knee...

Had a similar issue when water ran under the sole plate of knee wall and got soaked up by insulation transferring to the drywall on inside of sun room. A disaster.

No one ever responded.

They should be shut down. Never again!

I have had a 4 Seasons greenhouse over 20 years. We have had a few pieces of glass replaced as they became cloudy but they is about it.

We have never had a single leak. Most people that complain on here seem to have problems with local retail installation businesses and we also had problems like that 20 + years ago but the finished product itself has delivered more than we expected over the years.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - Not a reputable company

I had a sunroom built 10 years ago. Took 9 months to complete because they subcontract the work out to local carpenters. Had 4 different carpenters. Now ithe sunroom leaks. They are no help because the 1 year warranty has expired. Now have to find roofer for repairs without getting a brand new roof. A few of the windows are no longer aligned and do not close properly. Yes, I am pissed --for all the money they charge, they should do better. I do not deny that we have enjoyed the space before the leaks. No one needs this additional expense. All I can say is to beware of this company.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - Four Season Sunroom, Concord, NH area- Long Drawn out work, with very little communication

Hired a local Four Seasons Sunroom Dealer/Home Renovator Contractor to add 4 dormers and a balcony to my home in early 2011. He started in April 2011 and completed the job 10 months later in February 2012. Took a very long time to complete the job and disappeared for weeks at a time to go do other jobs, so in the meantime our house was torn apart and a mess. If I tried to call, or e-mail the builder he would not get back to me for sometimes more than 3 weeks. When he did work he sometimes would only work for 1-2 hours and then disappear for days or weeks, When I was able to confront him on this issue of taking so long to complete our project he always promised to finish faster, but of course never would. In addition when I contacted Four Seasons as a company and they reached out to him to talk to him about my issues, he was angry and defensive when he found out I contacted the company about his actions stated above. At the time of contact with the Four Seasons consumer area of the company he had ignored about 5 attempts that I had tried to reach him and he had dissappeared for about 3 weeks. Could not believe his reaction as I tried to explain to him that his work was taking way too long beyond the promised two months he said it would originally take. In the end we had to live around his work mess in our bedrooms on our second floor of our home, and chase him down for 10 months to finally complete the job. Furthermore, the deck he built recently leaked against the side of the house and when I contacted him again to fix his warrantied work it took him 5 weeks to respond back to numerous calls and e-mails. When he did look at it finally he said he would fix it. Dragged it out again and I ended up fixing the leak myself. The only thing he did was come out and deliver a metal stripping and spent a few minutes placing it against the deck. He then completed an absurd act of billing me $188 for the part and labor. I had to spend a total of 10 hours fixing his mistake and then he completed the absurd act of billing me for his mistakes. Can not figure out how someone could be so unetthical and non-professional with his actions. The $800 loss I quoted is on the low end of what I consider my costs for materials and my time to fix his mistake on the leaky balcony. Sorry, but I do not recommend the local Four Season contractor in the Concord, NH area for any project for anyone's home. I will say the work he did complete was quality and done correctly. But the frustrations of dragging the project out for months at a time, no contact back when I called or e-mailed him with numerous messages, him getting angry with me for contacting his company franchise for help with resolving the issue, and the final straw of me fixing his mistake of a leaky balcony and then charging me for doing nothing to fix the problem makes this whole experience a definite comlaint. My advice would be not to hire this person.

How did the contractor do his job "correctly" when you had to fix his mistakes. Either you think the contractor is good and you would refer him to others, or he's bad, period!

I think we used the same builder - he built a sunroom attachment to our home in 2009 - left my roof open for 5 weeks during the 3rd rainiest summer on record! I had water pouring through kitchen light fixtures, down behind the adjacent wall, and into my cellar all summer.

The sliding door has a drainage problem, constantly has water in it after rain - have never been able to get him to come back to fix this problem, and now this week we have developed a leak in a roof panel - doubtful I will get him to come back now! We love our sunroom, but this builder was awful.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - Four Seasons is a big rip off company..

We moved into our home in 2007 & had Four Season install a sunroom which was supposed to be completed in 60 days or less. Ended up taking 4 months after multiple errors. The first rain storm we had it leaked like Niagra Falls. For the next 2 yrs they were back & forth making cheap repairs, never correcting the problem. The local Four Seasons went bankrupt & all warranties were totally canceled out. We tried calling the closest Four Season to correct the problem. They not only would not even try to fix things they totally avoided talking to us all together. They told us unless they were making money off of us they werent interested in our problem. To this day every time it rains we have water running down the wall covering the floor. And no roofers will touch the problem they created. Money flushed down the toilet of something we thought would add beauty & charm to our home. I would highly recommend to look the other way when it comes to Four Seasons Sunroom. We even tried calling their corporate office to which they turned their head to the problem The salesman told us not my problem anymore once the contract was signed he was done.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - New England Four Seasons reaches satisfactory agreement

Update by user Jun 20, 2013

"New England Sunrooms repaired our sunroom in a courteous, prompt and professional manner. It has been over 9 months and everything is great. We are very satisfied and love our sunroom!"

Original review posted by user Aug 03, 2012

New England Four Seasons Sunroom has reached a satisfactory agreement with us. I wish to retract all previous statements that I have made in the past. Eight years ago, we had a gorgous conservatory built. It was a dream room with glass roof, glass windows, beautiful tile floors, and above all a jacuzzi. On cold, wintry, snowy days, we could relax in the jacuzzi watching the snowflakes fall, and enjoy its warmth. In the summer, we could open up the screened windows and let in the cool air. My plants thrived in the bright sun. Due to some unforseen problems, our sunroom needs additional work. New England Sunroom has agreed to restore it to its original state.

Four Seasons Sunrooms - 4 season sun rooms did not honor a serious recall

Four season sunrooms installed a large sunroom with 4 skylights 10 years ago with lifetime warranty on glass. 4 years ago a recall letter said that the material used for skylight can catch fire and the customer was supposed to call them to get it fixed . Multiple attemts to contact the company for 2 years failed for any one to respond. In May 2012 I met the company representative in home show and asked them to give me some other estimates. I showed them the windows for whom a recall notice was received . Also one large window turned completely opaque. The representative wanted to come back next day. He keeps lying that he has sent me estimates and the warranty work details. The representative name is Brian Owens. I have yet to see an estimate. Terrible company to deal with .

Four seasons sunrooms

Do not give these people your info. They have been calling me for 2 years now, mostley at dinner time. I have asked them to stop and take me off of the list every time. It is usually once or twice a month, lateley it has been 5 times this week. It is my new mission in life to call and harrass them when I am bored. Jan answers the phone in the evening for Lee's Summit. I think she must recognize my number because she will hang up when I call. Why can't she remember to not call it. Perhaps I will ask her when she calls tommarrow.

Same story in Toronto, Ontario as well. Customer service stinks.

Products about four years old.

One window faulty, and they couldn't fix it properly so far. Long delays in manufacture and installation.

We purchased a Four Seasons sunroom 4years ago. It is a new type, a vinyl kit.

It has leaked each and every year, particularly during winter months, freeze/thaw/snow melt/refreeze/etc etc etc. They were very responsive to trying to fix the leaks as they learned through trial and error. I have had the ceiling glass caulked/re-caulked, the front windows completely removed and the knee wall rebuilt. Water comes in through the vinyl channels migrating into the warm side (the inside) and also seeps in under the vinyl window casing sill.

Right now (Nov 2012) they are in the process of completely removing the vinyl sunroom components and they are replacing it all with their all aluminium kit which they have been installing for years. The owner says he will no longer install the vinyl kits as they lack thorough complete engineering to avoid water ingress.

I will only know after the freeze/thaw cycles of this winter (2012/2013) whether this rebuilt sunroom is truly water tight! Four Seasons here in Ottawa have been great on the service side but the vinyl kit on the original install and all their efforts to address my leaks since the completion of the install in my opinion is a type of sunroom to avoid like the plague!

My Four season room is 21 years old. I have replaced the floor and the floor joist in front of the sliding door 2 times from being rotted from rain getting in under it.

I had a rep. from 4 seasons come out before I fixed it the first time, he told me that the flashing was put on upside down.

He also told me that he could not do any thing for me. :x

Four Seasons Sunrooms

I have been trying to find a solution to a Four Seasons Sunroom glass roof system installed by one of FSS contractors. The roof leaked from the start and the contractor came back again and again trying to get the thing to stop leaking. After a couple of years, with the purchasers complaining bitterly about not being able to use the room because the water literally poured into it, I hit upon a solution. It's still experimental but the initial results seem to have cured the problem. Anybody interested should post and I'll see if I can help.

I'm sorry for what you have all been through. Hopefully you will feel a tinge of justice knowing that I am not going to hire this company based on all the complaints I've read.

Hopefully Four Seasons will notice that people are reading these complaints and it is costing them business to not correct their mistakes. If they cared, they would be posting here and reaching out to correct these problems but I have only seen one such comment so far.

I guess it's best to only use a contractor or company who gets paid when the job is completed.

I have had the same problem for years. Not only are the leaks worse, but water now comes in through the floors as well.

The contractor came out numerous time, but the issue was never resolved and the last time I contacted him he wrote me a nasty letter stating that they have done all that they are going to do. If you were able to stop the leaks, I would be most appreciatve if you would share your secret.

I am not satisfied with the four seasons sun room that was built at my house. Water issues etc...

what recourse do I have? What can I do to get four seasons and the contractor to take responsibility for these problems?

Thanks, Chris
